Obamacare for Dummies – New Book, New Approach

It all seems like a bunch of mumbo jumbo—but what does it really mean? The average Jo and Jane have no clue. The Affordable Care Act, or its infamous nickname, Obamacare, has been “dumbed down” by a personal financial advisor by the name of Don Silver. He wrote the book with the assumptions that most U.S. citizens have no clue what Obamacare entails or the impact it will have on the future healthcare system.

This isn’t the first time something like this has been done. In fact, there are already a few books claiming to be “survival guides”. This book apparently will give a big picture view of the law, breaking it down so easily that a child could comprehend. It is expected to take the Cliff Notes approach, giving the average citizen a deeper understanding of the complexities of the law.

The book is only available in e-format, mainly because the author needed such a quick turnaround. He wanted the information to be disseminated to consumers and business owners before Oct 1, as the book covers regulations issued through August 31. It will cost the same as buying a best-seller novel from a popular book chain.

People young and old alike are encouraged to read the book and try to digest as much information as possible, especially since the law directly affects most. A daunting task yes, but just might be well worth it.

This reminds me of a quote from Albert Einstein, “If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself.” Government reports and officials try to make reports so complicated that the average American doesn’t understand it. This is a great way to reach out to inform Americana but I worry most Americans wont be willing to pay. Lets hope that those who pay are those capable to correct the problems.
